'Tis the Season:
During this time of year, we often give the most. We are reminded of all the good we have received through out the year and feel the urge to give back. Often times, we giving to the obvious charities the homeless, the hungry and the sick.
This year, I have decided to change how I give to others. I pushed myself to think beyond the obvious organizations and felt the urge to find a program that spoke to my heart and my passions. I wanted to give in a way beyond my finances. This year, I will be committing to a program called YEA "Young Entrepreneurs Academy". It is run through the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce and encourages kids from 6th grade-12th grade to think of a unique business idea. As a mentor, I will help a student develop their business idea from the ground up. Helping them see their idea through to production and sales. I have always had a passion for kids and a passion for entrepreneurship and when I heard about this opportunity to be a mentor, it was a no brainer for me.
I encourage you this holiday season, to think beyond the obvious ways to give. Find something that speaks to your soul. Take a leap of faith and jump in with both feet!
